Foe cake? 24 August 2005 Boo! Apologies for the long silence. We're still here and have been quietly tinkering away with the album writing, which coincidently, is finally finished! We've booked time to record the drums in September and guitars and stick will follow shortly after. We think we're going to miss the comfortable release deadline of this year and go for February 2006 instead. There has been much gear transmogrification in the past few months and it should make your next Foe live experience a more fulfilling one. In the meantime, go and check out our myspace presence at www.myspace.com/foemusic where you can also listen to a couple of mp3s. We'll let you know how the drum sessions go. Bye for now, Foe 16 October 2004 A Brief Shout Out We're still hard at work on the next album 'Siafu'. It keeps evolving every day in new ways. The format has changed a bit since I last mentioned it. It will now have 3 tracks and be shorter than we originally planned. Don't worry, it will be quality over quantity you can be assured. The music is becoming more complex physically and emotionally and is taking a long time to perfect. Our writing and thinking processes are being inspired by different things all the time. Most notably, the artwork by Francesca De Santis. 09 June 2004 Our First Show With Steve Yay! It was great! Well done that man. He got a set of our stuff ready in a little over 4 months and sounded MEAN. Hats off! Thanks to everybody that came to support us and all those special people that said nice things afterwards. Swedish Love? We may or may not be playing with Meshuggah this month. We'll keep you posted. We Want Shows If anybody knows of any cool rocking venues to play in their town let us know because we're anxious to get out and get sweaty with you! 04 April 2004 Hahahahahahaha...bonk! Help Donald Rumsfeld dig his grave here please. 01 April 2004 Welcome to the new site Have a snoop around Foemusic version 03. New Low End Exponent Foe gives a big welcome to Steve Woodcock. Spazz-fingered Steve will be playing his gnarly Chapman Stick to enhance the Foe sound - Yes, that's right...TEN STRINGS!!! Oooh the possibilities are getting exciting. Mastodon and Nostromo Show We are playing a show with Mastodon and Nostromo on Tuesday 8th June at Camden Underworld, London. We're pretty excited about this one so we've gone into rehearsal overdrive. We'll be playing two old songs and two newies. Next Release Originally, we had plans for our next release to be an EP titled 'When You Carry A Hammer, Everything Looks Like A Nail'. As it has turned out, over the last couple of months we've written enough new material for an album, so we're going to go for that instead. It'll be called 'Siafu' and is almost completely written. There will be five tracks, all inspired by the life-cycle of african killer ants! Expect this sometime around September this year, and you've guessed it...House of Stairs will be the label releasing it. Back in Black? We made some nice and simple T-Shirts in black with the Foe logo in white on the front. We are selling these for £8 including postage within the UK and £10 for overseas orders. Check the T-Shirts section for more info. Reviews The reviews just keep coming for our first two releases. In total we have received over 75 now so big thankyous to everybody that took the time to write about us. Both Metal Hammer and Rocksound Magazine have reviewed our two latest CDs very favourably. Interview Teo from Shapeless Zine in Italy interviewed us in December. You can see it here (it's in Italian). Thanks Teo. Our friends Are Nice Many thanks to American Heritage and Art of Burning Water for being such great guys on the tour back in October. And, extra special thanks to Khyam Allami for helping us out with bass and website duties recently. You are all kings! 06 October 2003 Album Out Today That's right kids. Get it from the shops or www.houseofstairs.co.uk Alternatively, you could buy it from us for £8 at any of our shows on the tour that starts tomorrow. Sad News Unfortunately, for various reasons Crawford will not be playing bass in Foe. We will miss his unique style and good humour very much. We love you Craw. We will be playing as a power-duo for the time being. Interview We were recently interviewed by 'Stench' from Stillborn Webzine. Click here to read it. 25 September 2003 Arm Yourself with Clairvoyance Our debut album 'Arm Yourself With Clairvoyance' is released Oct 6th on House of Stairs. Visit the label's website at www.houseofstairs.co.uk where you can listen to the entire album and download a couple of mp3s. The Combined Stupidity of Spiteful Men Our next release will be a split album with our friends American Heritage and Art of Burning Water called 'The Combined Stupidity of Spiteful Men'. Our contribution is a 10 minute piece called 'Myrmidon'. In support of this release and our debut album, we're touring the UK with those two bands during October. Check out the 'Live' page for more info. |
